Haiti Mission Trip 2012

A. We are looking for 8 volunteers to go on this trip. (2 applications are already in)

B. We are looking for Care Team volunteers to help plan for this trip.

C. We are looking for volunteers to be on the prayer team for this trip.

Meeting for learning about the Haiti Mission Trip:

7/31 - 1:45 am in the Neffsville Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall (This meeting is to provide information to help each person decide if they want to make a commitment. There will be additional meetings later to help the team to prepare for the trip).

Expected Meetings for Work Team, Care Team, and Prayer Team:(The first 3 meetings are to provide information to help each person decide if they want to make a commitment).

(The last 3 meetings are primarily to help the team to prepare for the trip).

Purpose of Trip :

1. To work on a project that will help to continue the ministry of Christ through Radio Lumiere.(We hope to install a new Christian radio station in Jacmel, Haiti during this trip).

2. Support and encourage the staff at Radio Lumiere.

3. Create an opportunity for our team members to hear God talking to us about His work world-wide,and our place in His work.

4. Create relationships between Haitian Christians and our team members that will last beyond this ten day trip.

Types of Activities that we expect (Please be flexible):

Encourage our Haitian teammates (who are dealing with many hardships)

Construction work (with a paint brush, a wrench, a screwdriver, or a hammer)

Assist with putting up a radio tower and antenna

Help with tower work, electrical work, or hooking up and antenna..

Possible Fundraisers: (Expected trip costs per person: $1,900) (Plus we need $12,000 for equipment and supplies)

Missions breakfast (July 31st - 8:00-8:45 am at Neffsville Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall)

Missions breakfast (October 30th - 8:00-8:45 am at Neffsville Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall)

Wednesday Night Out fundraiser meal(Date TBD 5:30-6:30pm at Neffsville Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall)
